The purposes of TAHS shall be:
a. To collect and preserve documents, news publications, articles, books, memoirs, photographs, artifacts and related historical objects.
b. To research, interpret, and publish articles and books on the subjects related to the history, politics, and culture of Taiwanese American.
c. To preserve the heritage, tradition and culture of Taiwan.
d. To educate the Taiwanese Americans descendants and the public about the Taiwanese American values, culture, and history.

The following are selected few Major Events:
** The Historical Lecture on Western Medicine introduced to Tainan, Taiwan
Presented by Medical ProfessorAlbert Chu, Jen from St. Louis, Missouri
** Dr. Ray C. Lee one of our board members presented the topic ” Writing a Taiwanese Genealogy in the U.S.A.” in several locations, including Taiwan Center in L.A., Orange county,
and San Jose. He also introduced The Taiwanese American Historical Society to the audience
in San Jose.
** Historical Society co-sponsor with Human Right groups observed the 67th Peace Day 228
in Taiwan. More than 100 people attended.
** March 2 afternoon at LA Taiwan Center Auditorium, open to public
In Memory of Professor Chai, Trong-Rong
Historical Society together with 8 other Taiwanese American community groups in
So. Cal. organized this event. There are quite a few VIP spoke on the stage. The full video was
shown on our web site. We presented a special new song for Prof. Chai. The Taiwan Center
Chorus also presented two Taiwanese songs.
Most of our board members were there with other 200 people.

** Special guest from Taiwan, Kang, Ning-hsiang, he was one of the leaders and spokesman for the native Taiwanese in 1970-1990. He signed his memoir published in Nov. 2013 to the audience. He was a brave publisher and also a writer.
