張理（Stephanie Chang）現任密西根州州眾議員，是州議會第一位亞裔女議員。
根據張理的媽媽沈麗華 (Sarolina Shen Chang)女士的介紹︰
四年前，她首次參選，在黨內初選即以接近五成的得票率，在絕大多數是非洲裔的選區，擊敗六位候選人勝出，並於該年十一月的大選以百分之九十四的票數獲勝，被州府蘭辛一報紙稱為“值得注目的新昇之星”。兩年前，在初選中她繼以百分之七十一的選票，在同一選區擊敗六位候選人，並於該年十一月的大選以百分之九十三的得票率獲得連任。今年，她參選州參議員，選區三倍於目前的眾議會選區，在八月的初選，她再次以接近百分之五十的選票，擊敗其他五位候選人，將於十一月六日與共和黨、綠黨候選人競選。
雙親來自台灣的張理，高中時積極參與並主持亞裔學生會，大學時代除了主持少數族裔聯合學生會，並於春假期間遠赴佛羅里達的古巴人區、德州的墨西哥人區，參與社區服務，深入了解不同族裔的困境。大一的暑假期間，她曾在華府司法部實習，大二暑假則在紐約亞裔司法聯盟，為日後成立亞太裔投票促進會密西根分會盟奠基，更加強她服務社里的決心。大學畢業後，曾擔任底特律華裔名社會運動家陳玉平（Grace Lee Boggs）的助理，一“爭取正義”非營利機構的主任，協助成立一孕育思考、促進平等、佳值教育的學校。
從政以來，她秉持投入政壇初衷，為民喉舌，提出有關教育、司法、刑法、環境、移民、醫療、婦權、老年法案，不畏強勢秉持廉正。她並且成立民眾服務中心，日日為選民排除困難解決問題。除此，她更不時參與促進社會公義、培育年輕領袖的活動，以身作則引導不同族裔關心社會、教育、環境、司法、刑法，參與政治等。展現的正是承繼移民不畏艱難、樂觀進取、追求平等的精神。
沈麗華說︰「身為第一代移民的我們，赤手空拳的來到這片土地，我們經歷艱辛投注事業、建立家園。現在我們的第二代嶄露頭角，他們需要我們的全力支持。」

Greetings!
My name is Stephanie Chang. I’m the daughter of Taiwanese American immigrants who came to the United States looking for better educational opportunities. I’m also the mom of a three year old daughter, whose future I fight for every day at the State Capitol. In 2014, I was the first Asian American woman and first Taiwanese American elected to the Michigan legislature.
Before I ran for office, I worked for nonprofit organizations as a community organizer, working on issues ranging from criminal justice reform to immigrants’ rights. I decided to run for State Representative so that I could make a bigger impact for my community and fight for quality education for all our children, clean air and water, an economy that works for everyone, and a smarter justice system. Over the past four years, I have built a strong track record serving Detroit and Downriver by both working across the aisle to get bipartisan legislation passed (such as a bipartisan bill package related to sexual assault) and also being a consistent champion for Democratic values. I have an office in my district where we have helped hundreds of families by saving homes from tax foreclosure, getting people’s water utilities back on, and much more.
This year, I am running for the State Senate to be able to do more good for more people. I want to continue serving my community and helping families! You might have seen the CNN interview from August about the racial slurs my primary election opponent used on Election Day. Despite the challenges, I will always recognize the opportunity to serve in the legislature as a true honor and privilege. I continue to be the only Asian American woman in the legislature so far and have brought several young leaders to the Capitol so they can see how the legislature works and that they could have a career in public service.
